In front of over 512 passionate fans at the MyFM Centre Recreation Complex, the Renfrew Wolves in a heart-stopping 4-3 overtime loss to the Brockville Braves on Saturday night.
The game was a back-and-forth battle that saw both teams exchanging leads before Brockville’s Zach Dostaler scored the game-winner just 1:42 into overtime.
The Braves opened the scoring in the first period on a power play, with Dostaler finding the back of the net.
Renfrew responded in the second period with a power play goal of their own, as Dylan Souliere tied the game at 1-1. Brockville regained the lead with a penalty shot from Buller, but Paron answered back for the Wolves, leveling the score 2-2. The Wolves took a brief 3-2 lead in the third period, thanks to Tal Stevenson’s power play goal. However, Brockville’s Dylan Cote tied it up late, sending the game into overtime.
In the extra period, Dostaler scored his second of the night to lift the Braves to victory. Despite the loss, Renfrew outshot Brockville 40-31 and battled hard in front of their home crowd.
