Scott Buffam Hired as Wolves U18AAA Head Coach

The Wolves are very happy to announce that Scott Buffam will be joining our program as the Head Coach of our U18AAA Wolves.

Scott has been a teacher in Renfrew County for the last 24 years, spending 20 of those years at Renfrew Collegiate Institute, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in player development in the Ottawa Valley, having coached for the last 17 years at the varsity, rep B and AA levels. He is also currently the 1st Vice President of the Ottawa Valley Titans organization. In addition to coaching hockey, Scott has also coached competitive baseball, volleyball and basketball.

Scotts experience not just as a hockey coach, but also as a teacher will be integral to our program’s success in the years to come.

Scott brings with him Devin Campbell of Greely, Ontario. Devin played minor hockey for the Upper Canada Cyclones AAA before playing for the Carleton Place Canadians from 2011 to 2015 finishing with a letter on his jersey. While with the Canadians he won 2 Fred Page Cups, 2 Bogart Cups and made it to the RBC Cup finals twice. After junior Campbell went on to play Division 1 hockey at Niagara University for two seasons before transferring to SUNY Oswego where he would play his senior year as the team’s captain. In his two years as a Laker he won countless league and conference awards including back to back Defensive Player of the Year awards in the SUNYAC conference. After college he signed a professional contract and played with the Wichita Thunder in the ECHL before deciding to retire.

Devin graduated with a B.S. and MBA from Oswego and now works as a corporate accountant at Ducharme and Associates Inc.

Unfortunately Greg Sharpe has had to step down as the Head Coach of our program, as he has a pre-existing condition that puts him at a very high risk for COVID-19. We are thrilled that Greg has decided to stay on board with the program in an Assistant Coaching capacity, and will provide the rest of the staff with all the help they could need while he works remotely from home.

We’re very happy with the group that will be leading us forward and helpingĀ  our young players reach their goals. Please join us in welcoming Scott and Devin to the Wolves!
