Truth and Reconciliation Ceremony

Saturday Sept 28 – MYFM Renfrew, the Renfrew Junior Wolves faced the Cornwall Colts in a spirited match. Before the game, we had the honor of holding a Truth and Reconciliation ceremony. A huge thank you to Nevaeh and Kylie, members of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, for their beautiful Fancy Shawl and Jingle Dress dances, adding such grace and cultural richness to the evening. We also want to recognize flag bearers Brody and Adam, and all participants in the ceremony.

A heartfelt thank you to Danica for her moving land acknowledgment and for sharing Phyllis Webstad’s Orange Shirt story, reminding us of the importance of Every Child Matters and the journey towards reconciliation.

Though we didn’t secure the win, the night was one of community, culture, and learning. We look forward to coming back stronger next game!
