Hughes Signs with Kingston Frontenacs!

The Wolves are very excited to announce that forward Paul Hughes has signed a Standard Player Agreement with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League!

Paul was a standout for the Wolves in his rookie season, playing top minutes in all situations, while racking up over a point per game. Hughes was rewarded for his efforts just this week being named Renfrew Wolves’ Rookie of the Year.

A great example of development through U18AAA, Hughes played two seasons with our program (formerly Kanata Lasers U18AAA), in which Paul was a top scorer in the league in 2019-2020, earning the 5th overall selection in the OHL U18 Priority Selection. Hughes was one of our program’s first commitments, and made an impact on our team from day one!

Coach Leonard speaks glowingly of Paul’s work ethic, saying “Paul is a great hockey player and an even better kid. He shows up to the rink every day and puts in the work, and it’s been a pleasure watching him grow with us this season. We are very grateful to have been able to be a part of Paul’s development, and wish him all the best with the Fronts!”

Hughes is our second player heading to the OHL next season, with Ben Bujold signing his player agreement earlier this year. “We’re very proud to have helped two of our young guys achieve their goals of playing in the OHL, and look forward to watching their careers moving forward” said Leonard.

Please join us in congratulating Paul on joining the Kingston Frontenacs!
