Wolves Add Greer and Phare to Roster!

With play resuming for the Wolves this week, Coach Leonard is very pleased to announce the acquisition of two high caliber players; Reid Greer and Tyson Phare!

Reid Greer will be joining the Wolves offensive core, bringing tremendous amounts of speed and skill to the lineup. The local boy born and raised in Renfrew is a product of all three programs under the Wolves umbrella, playing last season with the Lasers U18s, before starting this season at Junior B with the Valley Timberwolves. Greer put up 27 points in 43 games with the league leading Lasers U18 in 2019-2020, and has been well over a point a game in developmental scrimmage action with the Timberwolves in 2020-2021.

The Wolves are also very excited to welcome Tyson Phare to the team, joining us from Maple Ridge, BC. Phare is a first round draft pick to the WHL, getting selected 18th overall in 2017 by the Prince George Cougars. Tyson spent the majority of the last two seasons playing in the WHL for the Prince George Cougars, Everett Silvertips and Lethbridge Hurricanes. The 6’2 195lbs 2002 born Phare is a jack-of-all-trades, playing as both a forward and a defenseman.

Coach Leonard spoke highly of both signings, “Reid is a very dynamic young player who is going to be a great player for us moving forward. Being a local boy, it was important to us that we could get him on the ice and continue developing him into an elite player.” “Tyson is a big pick up for us. Not only is he a highly skilled player who we expect to produce for us, but he is also a big player with experience playing in a very tough WHL, so we’ll be looking for him to add some grit. Being a utility man allows us to use him in all sorts of situations, making our lineup even more dynamic.”

The Wolves will be back in action Friday night in Smiths Falls taking on the Bears, before returning Saturday for a rematch.

Please join us in welcoming Reid and Tyson to the Wolves!
